Abstract:
The quark flux-tube model suggests that quarks interact in
colourless groups of either two or three. The selection of which
quarks will interact with which is based on minimizing the amount of
string used to connect them. A molecular dynamics simulation of such
a classical system of forces is being worked on in the hope of
determining if a liquid crystal phase will occur. The numerical
problems arising from trying to deal with such a non-analytic force
are discussed herein.
