System Requirements

The system is written in PHP (a server scripting language), Perl (a text oriented scripting language), Bourne Shell (a system oriented scripting language).

The system expects to run on an Apache Web server and speak to a MySQL database server.

Updates to the individual city web sites are done through FTP using restricted accounts.

The software assumes that the software coordinators are able to get super-user priveledges, and have the right to create new users. If a non-dedicated system is used, then clear roles will need to be established.

A stock Unix system generally has all of the required components. The software has been operated on RedHat Linux systems, although there are no known RedHat dependancies. The system was developed on a combination of RedHat and NetBSD Unix systems.
