Greetings! Welcome to the Dam and Reservoir Impact and Information Archive. Herein you'll find information on dams, water diversions, impoundments, and hydroelectric projects and their impacts around the world.

This archive will eventually include social, economic, political, ecological, geological, etc. information gleaned from a variety of sources, including refereed journals, "grey" literature, and magazine and newsletter articles.

Information is organized by geographic area, by project, and by impact type, and by whether it is at this site, or at another link.

IMPORTANT NOTE

Our machine suffered a hard disk crash... we lost a lot of information. Over the next 2 months, the files and links will be rebuilt. Please note: We still have stuff from tape archives circa August 1994, but ALAS, c'est tout. Old links should be replaced by months end, with luck. We apologize for any inconvienience. The archive is volunteer-run on donated cyberspace and a labour of love; please bear with us.

Thanks! Danke! Merci beaucoup! for your patience...

***CONSTRUCTION ZONE AHEAD!*** ;)
