Frank, We have the ability to carry an IV in the IPSP header info. What Phil is trying to do is to economize on "extra" bits carried just for security purposes. In fact, the IPv4 frag ID is not an ideal IV from a security standpoint, but rather represents a compromise in terms of minimal overhead. Steve
