Steve K and Steve B,
I agree with both of you. I was speculating that it's likely that
present day implementations of TCP do not treat checksum errors as
potentially caused by malice. Therefore, if we intend to depend on
the TCP checksum to protect us against malicious errors, we probably
have to review and perhaps modify the error handling. There's also a
question of whether the checksum is strong enough.
