With regard to the computational cost of DH, I think the use of
elliptic curve systems should be considered. Our preliminary
indications are that they can provide the same security with much less
computation. The final word on the ratio will depend on having
independent (and sophisticated) implementations on different
platforms, but it is possible that the time for the computation can be
brought down to something palatable.
