SKEME

For those that need some reading material during the flight to Dallas,
you may want to take a look at a paper that I have written on
a proposal I have once presented to this group for enhancing
Photuris (I called that proposal "Photuris variant").
For the paper, I have renamed the protocol to SKEME (Secure Key Exchange
MEchanism).

The paper discusses in some detail requirements (as I see them) for
an Internet's key management protocol, and proposes a particular solution
to achieve these requirements.

I am offering this as reading material for people interested on these issues.
I am *not* proposing it as yet another proposal for IPSEC
(although I definitely support the addition of some of the features
in SKEME to Photuris).

I will be glad to have personal discussions with people in Dallas regarding
the (many) issues raised in that paper.

Enjoy! (I hope)

This work will be presented at the February's Internet Society Symposium
on Network and Distributed System Security (SNDSS'96) in San Diego.
