draft-baldwin-esp-rc5-00.txt

The draft we have written on how to use RC5 in
an IPsec ESP is now on the IETF file servers. The access information
is given below. All comments and suggestions are appreciated.

                --Bob Baldwin

A New Internet-Draft is available from the on-line Internet-Drafts
directories.

Title : The ESP RC5 Transform
       Author(s) : B. W. Howard and R. W. Baldwin
       Filename : draft-baldwin-esp-rc5-00.txt
       Pages : 10
       Date : 03/20/1996

This document describes the RC5-CBC security transform for the IP
Encapsulating Security Payload (ESP) based on the DES-CBC transform
described in RFC-1829 and RFC-1827. The RC5 cipher allows for greater
performance, security and exportability than the DES cipher. A companion
document [Baldwin96] describes RC5 in sufficient detail to construct
interoperable systems.

Send a message to: mailserv@ds.internic.net. In the body type:
     "FILE /internet-drafts/draft-baldwin-esp-rc5-00.txt".

NOTE: The mail server at ds.internic.net can return the document in
MIME-encoded form by using the "mpack" utility. To use this
feature, insert the command "ENCODING mime" before the "FILE"
command. To decode the response(s), you will need "munpack" or
a MIME-compliant mail reader. Different MIME-compliant mail readers
exhibit different behavior, especially when dealing with
"multipart" MIME messages (i.e., documents which have been split
up into multiple messages), so check your local documentation on
      how to manipulate these messages.

For questions, please mail to Internet-Drafts@cnri.reston.va.us.

Below is the data which will enable a MIME compliant mail reader
implementation to automatically retrieve the ASCII version
of the Internet-Draft.
