draft-caronni-esp-stream-01.txt

Hello everybody,

Marcel Waldvogel and I updated the Stream Transform lately. Now I would like
to ask WG members and chairs whether there is interest in making this a
standard transform, or whether this could be made an informational IPSEC
RFC. What are your opinions? And yes, there are at least four different
implementations using this transform.

The announment:

A Revised Internet-Draft is available from the on-line Internet-Drafts
directories.

Title : The ESP Stream Transform
       Author(s) : G. Caronni, M. Waldvogel
       Filename : draft-caronni-esp-stream-01.txt
       Pages : 12
       Date : 09/03/1996

This document describes a security transform providing privacy and optional
replay protection through Encapsulating Secure Payload (ESP). The
transform defines how to use ESP in conjunction with byte-oriented stream
ciphers, such as RC4 or SEAL. These stream ciphers offer strong encryption
with comparatively low computational demands, and are thus favorable for
multimedia bulk data or environments where the computing power needed per
packet should be low.
