Ly, You may not be familiar with IPv6 (RFC 1883), but ALL extension headers encode the "Hdr Ext Len" field by first subtracting 8 octets from the payload length. While IPv6 then divides by 8 for all extension headers except AH, I do not see any good reason for yet more variations. Charlie
