Joint X.509 / IPsec discussion
This has been long overdue, and a long time coming, but I am arranging a
meeting for CA software companies and IPsec technologists to discuss the
issues surrounding use of X.509 certificates by IPsec and the interaction
of IPsec products with CA software products.
We are planning this meeting for Feb 19th at BBN/GTE's facility in the
Boston area. Plan on a full day meeting. I suspect that around 12 CA
software companies, averaging 2 people would attend with around 6 - 10
IPsec specialists (space planing for Pat Cain).
The goal of this meeting would be to establish the X.509/CA guidelines so
that CA software vendors can attend the IPsec workshop the week of March
2nd in Raleigh NC to address product interoperabilty.
This meeting will also have as its goal to investigate the realm of CA
software certification, ie is the software delivering the security services
as specified.
An agenda will follow.
