This may be excessively obvious to some, but I've found that it's
never a bad idea to be explicit...

RFC 1851 explicitly discusses byte order for (3)DES, but the current
I-Ds appear not to do so.

Given that there is a mix of byte orders in the various transforms
(e.g., MD5 is little endian) it would seem useful to specify the byte
order explicitly for all transforms.

I assume the various flavors of DES are indeed still big endian.  What 
about SHA1?  Is it little endian by analogy to MD5?
