Re: Latest AH/ESP/Arch drafts and changes

Thomas,

I was instructed by Jeff Schiller to ask the document editors to
get their final changes into the Secretariat by yesterday, so to make
sure that by Thursday, the final I-D's would all be published. This
way, should the IESG decide that they want to redo the ballot (given
that we made a few more changes than were originally formally agreed by
the full IESG --- for example, the IANA considerations text), the IESG
will have had the final set of changes in front of them for the full
week before the next IESG meeting.

Now, I'm not sure whether another IESG vote is actually going to
be taken, but my sense was that Jeff didn't want there to be any chance
that the IPSEC documents would be further delayed caused by
procedure-based objections by any IESG member who might be sticklers
about fine points of procedure.

It wouldn't be hard to make this change, but it will require
submitting yet publishing yet another version of the I-D, and said I-D
wouldn't be in front of IESG members for the full requisite week should
another vote be necessary.

Question: is this important enough for us to add this clarifying
text now, or can we batch this change until the IPSEC specifications get
revised for elevation to Draft standard?
