New source release available - PLEASE READ
I put 3 new tar files on snad in ~ipng/src/Linux
linux.091898.tgz - 2.1.108 kernel with latest Cerberus code
contains support for PlutoPlus. You need to create
a second netlink device to work with PlutoPlus
(mknod /dev/ike c 36 15)
sadb.091898.tgz - latest user interface code - will no longer work
with old script files.
o No UID field
o Only accepts a single key for each algorithm
o New X based, TCL/TK script for nice GUI management
tool - xsadb
plutoplus.091898.tgz - Based from ~ipng/src/Linux/plutoplus.091598.tgz
(Sheila's last upload) - changed the kernel_comm
code to use /dev/ike, changed the makefile to
not compile for WIT & DEBUG.
Don't put any of this code on WIT - it will require a significant amount
of changes to the test cases because of the changes to the user interface.
This snapshot contains any/all major modifications prior to the next
release. In the next 2 weeks I will be doing the following to get
the code out the door:
1) Document the changes to the kernel code and the command line sadb
interface.
2) Develop a man page and documentation for xsadb
3) Port the kernel code to the latest 2.1 kernel (only if the changes
are minor).
4) Produce kernel diffs and modify the Cerberus installation script.
5) Update the Cerberus WWW page.
6) Develop some example scripts and document how to setup Cerberus
to use PlutoPlus.
7) Change the distribution letter to mention the Cerberus mailing list
and market WIT.
8) Find a local company that will make 100-200 floppies at time with
labels.
For the plutoplus code, we need the following
1) A WWW page that talks about the internal details (i.e. architecture)
with some nice graphics of PlutoPlus
2) Modifications to the Cerberus installation script that helps the
user install the code (I'll take care of this).
3) A PlutoPlus man page (nroff format) (I'll help someone with this).
4) Some example scripts on different ways of running plutoplus.
5) A list of changes from the original Pluto code.
6) A prioritized TBD list.
7) Any last minute minor changes you may want to make before we ship the code.
My goal is to announce the release on 10/5/98.
If you have a chance, please pull down this code and give it a shot.
I need feedback on it RSN.
