RE: VPN bakeoff in October & export licensing.



That sounds good. Maybe I didn't make myself clear. We only intend to
"import" (new) binary images (from the UK) onto a laptop and thence onto a
router. Once we have finished testing, we'll delete all images from
laptops/routers prior to shipping everything back to the UK. 

At no point does the source code "leave" the UK.

Thanks to all those that have replied, we're in touch with the NSA...

   Actually from what i have heard, seen, read, you are allowed to export
   (and import (duh))crypto on your palm/laptop, as long as it stays on
   your palm/laptop.

What you are thinking of is 15CFR740.9(a)(2)(i)"Tools of the trade".
But it may not apply to source code, just executeables.
