O'reilly Associates has new  book out on VPN. I just looked at the cover.
You might want to give that book a shot. It might contain  real life
examples of ISAKMP.

May be this is a silly question but I would like to know if anybody has 
a real life (Bob, Alies) explanation of ISAKMP.

I studied some drafts around ISAKMP and I think I still didn't really 
get it.
