You mean, AH was invented before mobile IP had a use for it.
I did mobile ip in 1990-1991 (paper in sigcomm'91), and the mobile ip
working group has been meeting as a working group since the 23rd IETF
(March 1992).
I do agree, however, that AH must die a quick death.
