Re: [Design] A hardware acceleration project for FreeS/WAN

Linux has a `channel bonding' patch, IIRC. Would that not do the trick
for even `client' models of the NIC? Admittedly, my info about that
patch is a bit old. Perhaps it does not work on modern kernels.

| Both server and client models are supported. The only difference
between
| them is that with the server model one can build a 'team', which is
an
| aggregation of adapters to make them look like a single virtual device
to
| the OS. Also note that some models support only DES and not 3DES.
| I am still working towards making this work available for public
download,
| but it may take a couple of months resolve the internal issues. Sorry.
I
| will inform this forum of any progress.

| Anyone in Ottawa who'd like to play with Fabian's code, I was just at
| Northern Micro on Colonnade Road and they have a half dozen Pro/100S
| boards on the shelf at $75 each.
|
| Some are labelled as the 'server model', others not. Fabian: what's
the
| difference?
|
| They also have several Intel PCMCIA adapters with the crypto
accleration
| chips at $95. Fabian: does your code support these?
