It's not a fair comparison because, as I remember it, the poll in
Minneapolis was taken only of implementers, whereas the poll in London was
taken of the whole room. The poll had very high participation, and IMHO
polls with high participation are unreliable because many of the voters are
likely to be tourists.

Also, some people thought that the question was whether the IETF should
pursue alternate KMPs, and not whether the IETF should specifically replace
IKE with an alternate KMP. I have to say that's not how I interpreted the
question, but the guy sitting next to me did.

Upon closer inspection, I saw that the line
dividing black from white was in fact a shade
of grey. As I drew nearer still, the grey area
grew larger. And then I was enlightened.
