Yes, the choice of schedule clearly violates Natalie's Law. :-)

(The original Natalie's Law -- enunciated by Ron Natalie during the
planning for the Great Renaming of Usenet in 1986 -- is "Never schedule
major software changes on or near major holidays!", with the added
comment that things like Usenix conferences, the World Science Fiction
Convention, and April 15th qualify as holidays for this purpose.)
