Paul, I think we're in close agreement on essentially all points, including UTF-8, not ASCII, if the WG chooses to narrow the scope of the ID semantics. I would rather not have 2401bis profile IKEv2, but I also reluctant to have gaps, so I thin iot is good to resolve this now. Steve
