Alto Biobio, 3 de Abril de 1998
Nosotros, miembros de la Comunidad Indigena El Avellano, en el Alto Biobio
queremos dar a conocer a ustedes nuestra situacion y los problemas que han
ocurrido:
* Enrique Richard, desde que construyeron la represa Pangue nos trata de
echar de nuestra tierra, tierra en la que hemos vivido siempre. Hacen un par
de dias hemos recibido la segunda carta de desalojo.
* ¿ Porque la justicia se va del lado del usurpador ? ( No sabemos como
obtuvo sus papeles de propiedad ). Desde 1966 que nos viene a amenazar. Si
no vienen sus hombres vienen los carabineros.
* ¿ Porque nos quiere echar ? Porque sabe que si nos echa a nosotros, podra
asi echar a los otros habitantes de El Avellano. ¿ Y para que echarnos de
nuestras tierras ancestrales ? Para construir complejos turisticos.
* No habiendo vivido nunca este señor en estas tierras: ¿ como la justicia
podria estar a su lado ? ¿ Sera porque el tiene la plata para comprar la
justicia y nosotros pobres Pehuenches no tenemos ningun poder ?
* Nosotros nos defenderemos hasta el final sea como sea. Lucharemos por
nuestras tierras, que mas que un suelo es nuestra historia, nuestra
identidad y nuestra vida.
Por todo esto es que es que venimos a presentarle nuestro problema.
Esperamos que las autoridades tomen conciencia de estos problemas que nos
pasan todos los dias y que no nos dejan vivir en paz. Esperamos que las
cosas se arreglen. Damos gracias a todas las personas que nos ayudan.
