If dams affect the the rotation of the planet, what about a city =
like New York or Tokyo or others? The planet has been changed by many =
things built by man to shelter and feed human beings, including dams, =
but it's rotation is not one of them. The relative weight of reservoirs =
compared to that of the planet is not even worth mentioning. The =
concrete in a large city is far more weighty. Does my tax money pay NASA =
to do such nonsense?
Someone who lives in CA should know better than anyone the =
importance of water. Without dams, the state would not function. We all =
need to make sacrifices for the good of the many. Nothing is perfect in =
life. The only solution is to totally stop population growth and in CA =
immigration. That's not an option currently or in the foreseeable =
future. Therefore, we have to make compromises until we have the will to =
do otherwise. I love the environment, but I also want to ensure that =
everybody can live in a decent shelter and have enough food to feed =
themselves and, most importantly, the children. Those of us on this =
planet that have so much should look at other parts of the world where =
clean water is not available, adequate food is not available, and where =
people live on the edged day to day. We have too much and we shouldn't =
try to tell others that they can't have theirs too.=20
