dam-l Maheshwar website info from proponent: benefits

No wonder I get seasick when I go websurfing...

No mention at all about the quality of the land flooded or
how good the land the adivahsis are getting nor of the bust that
inevitably follows the boom in fisheries within a reservoir.

Charming...

:-P

My ecology and economics profs would've failed me had I submitted
*this* as a cost benefit analysis! This sort of uninformed stuff
makes my blood boil.

In the 13 villages to be fully submerged, road conditions are pathetic even for a bullock-cart and the basic amenities like electricity, water and drainage are also in a bad shape.

gain.gif (278 bytes)
At the new area, prior to relocation of people, the project will ensure that the proper roads conditions, water, drainage and other amenities are available to all.
