Luanda To Host Colloquium On Oceans, Environment

Luanda, Angola (PANA) - A colloquium on the issues of marine environment will be held from 16 to 21 December
in Luanda, on the fringe of the 38th world sailing championship, the national news agency reported.
It said the colloquium is aimed at guaranteeing the continuation of acts initiated in 1998, the International Year of
the Sea, to raise awareness and educate people on marine environment and its importance to life on earth.
Renowned foreign specialists and representatives of NGOs dealing with the protection of seas and oceans, such as
Greenpeace, will be attend to exchange information and experience with technicians, politicians and specialists of the
sea.
According to a draft agenda, the forum will be held from 16 to 19 December with debates around themes such as the
global issue of seas and oceans and marine pollution and coastal protection in Africa, among others.
