Worldwide Desalination Market to Reach $70 Billion Within 20 Years
Cost-saving innovations in seawater desalination technology will double the
size of the worldwide desalination market to more than $70 billion during
the
next 20 years, according to experts at Generale des Eaux and USFilter.
"Chronic water shortages have already prompted cities in California, as
well
as around the world, to invest in seawater desalination technology.
Approximately $10 billion in new desalination projects, handling 5.3
million
cubic meters per day, are scheduled to come on-line worldwide during the
next
five years, according to research commissioned by Generale des Eaux."
