LESOTHO, MASERU: WATER SHORTAGES CONTINUE

Despite rainfall in October 1999, drought conditions continue to cause
water shortages in Lesotho's capital Maseru. These shortages are further
exacerbated by the inadequate infrastructure that especially affects
suburban residential areas. Water restrictions imposed by the Lesotho
Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA) will remain in force until water
catchment levels are normalized.
