Dear Cree sympathizers,

We need dedicated volunteers to attend and strategize at the Tuesday
night organizing meeting of Minnesota Witness for Environmental
Justice. It starts at 7:00 and is scheduled to end at 9:00. This
will be our third time together--we're still new to each other, in
addition to being new to the complex issue of sustainable energy and
how Manitoba Hydro does NOT fit into that scenario!

Please do advertise this meeting to acquaintances in your social
circles, faith communities, clubs, neighborhood organizations, and
special interest groups. It is best if people call ahead to the
Witness line:

651-255-6945

to let us know who shall attend so we have resources (like chairs)
available for everyone. If you can't attend, or if you don't wish to
assume activist duties right now, I still welcome you to phone in
your ideas.

A positive incentive to become involved is that WCCO 4 News and
Minnesota Public Radio reporters have visited our hour of Witness the
last two weeks and we need to be ready for more media attention.
Pulse magazine published a story on us today. We want to build
favorable public opinion upon these media beginnings!

A sorrowful incentive to become involved is that there has been
another suicide in Cross Lake this week. The sooner we make
Minnesota take responsibility to quit cooperating with Manitoba
Hydro, the sooner Pimicikamak Cree Nation may become empowered to
rebuild their preferred destiny. And we ourselves may build a better-
-more sustainable--pattern of energy consumption as an example to the
rest of America.

For environmental justice,
