We are sending a text that you can send to Bolivian parlament. We need your
solidarity today. Maybe tomorrow will be late.

Dear Sir
It is with great concern that we learned you are planning to legalized the
export of water from the Potosí Department. Rushing into this law is very
risky, as the technical, environmental and social impacts have not been
suffciently studied. Similar laws in other places have produced disastrous
effects on people and nature.
Approval of this law would set a terrible precedent, certain to produce
months if not years of conflict in the region. As recent events in Bolivia
have shown, water legislation must consider the concerns and interests of
all, not just the desire for profit by the few.
We implore you to move to strike down this law, and move toward more
socially and environmentally sustainable regulatory frameworks.
