A DEMO AGAINST PLUTONIUM FUEL
MONDAY MARCH 16
IN FRONT OF CENTER BLOCK, PARLIAMENT HILL
FROM NOON TILL 12.30
Without any public consultation, the Chretien government has already
declared its support for the import of weapons plutonium fuel (MOX)
into Canada to use in CANDU reactors. The first shipment is scheduled for
this spring. It will be shipped from Los Alamos, New Mexico to Chalk River,
Ontario. There a "testburn" will take place.
Even the smallest amount of plutonium released into the environment could
have a catastrophic impact.
The security measures required to transport plutonium could militarize
canadian society to an extent never seen before.
This plan will justify the operation of aging and unsafe nuclear reactors
for at least another 25 years.
KEEP RADIOACTIVE POISONS FROM THE U.S. AND RUSSIA OFF OUR HIGHWAYS!!!!
STOP THE "TESTBURN"
