COAT at War Show (on CPAC this weekend)
War/Air Show Coverage on CPAC this weekend
Last weekend, COAT supporters at the War/Air show boarded a huge military
cargo plane and served as a mobile gallery of art. We were wearing
Tshirts (made for the occasion) which had Central American children's art
depicting aerial bombardments. As we stood there exhibiting these
paintings, the head of security for the War/Air Show barged in and covered
the camera and ordered us off the plane. See all this and more on TV tonight!
The reporter who covered the action, Dan Fonda, of the CPAC TV station
(which broadcasts the House of Commons) says they will be broadcasting
their coverage of the War/Air Show on:
Saturday, June 6 and/or Sunday, June 7
(tonight) at 8 p.m. (program length 1.5 hours) at 10 p.m.
CPAC was also inside the military trade show part of the War/Air Show. I
believe that Dan Fonda interviewed some generals there (who, of course,
were in Ottawa for CONJEFAMER, the Conference of the Chiefs of the Air
Forces of the Americas). They also interviewed some of the COAT supporters
who were there protesting at the show and distributing leaflets.
There's a number to call to confirm what's on CPAC. It's 567-6040. It's
updated at 6 p.m. everyday and lists what's on for the next 24 hours. So
if you want to make sure, call tonight and tomorrow at 6 p.m.
