Palestine Solidarity Evening (8 December)




You are warmly invited to our commemoration of :


            THE UNITED NATIONS DAY OF SOLIDARITY WITH PALESTINIANS

An evening of discussion, music, poetry and featuring the Ottawa premiere
of Edward Said’s BBC documentary:  In Search of Palestine.

                  Parliament Hill, Ottawa



An evening event to mark the United Nations Day of Solidarity with
Palestinians will be held on Tuesday, December 8, 1998 at 7:30 pm in the
Railway Room (Rm 253D), Center Block, Parliament Hill. The evening will
feature the Ottawa premiere of Edward Said’s BBC documentary, In Search of
Palestine.  Guest speakers will include noted theologian Mark Ellis, Peyton
Lyon, Nahla Abdo, John Sigler, Senator Marcel Prud’homme, Svend Robinson, MP
Burnaby-Douglas, and a first hand account of life in the Palestinian refugee
camps in Lebanon by CEPAL volunteers Mark Zeitoun and Andrea-Kirsten Becker.
The event will also feature live music, poetry reading, a photo display, and
Arabic finger foods! 

The agenda for the evening is as follows:

8:55   "Future? What Future?" 50 years of Palestinian Refugees in
Lebanon” by Mark Zeitoun and Andrea-Kirsten Becker

9:30   Senator Marcel Prud’homme

9:35   Edward Said's dcocumentary - In Search of Palestine

10:25  Closing of Event
