Still time to sign open letter to Chretien
The East Timor Alert Network is asking concerned people to sign a letter to
Prime Minister Jean Chretien urging him to publicly support self-determination
for East Timor.
While recent statements by new Indonesian President Jusuf Habibie show some
softening of Indonesia's position, it's going to take pressure from countries
like Canada to ensure that Indonesia agrees to more than just token autonomy.
