CLC Nat'l Day of Mourning - April 28 @ 12:30 pm
The Canadian Labour Congress, the Ottawa and District Labour Council and the
Ottawa and District Injured Workers Group will be conducting thier annual
commemorative event on the occasion of the National Day of Mourning for
workers killed and injured on the job Wednesday, April 28 at 12:30 p.m. at
the monument in Vincent Massey Park, corner of Heron and Riverside. Free
parking is available at the park, courtesy of the NCC.
The monument is set near the Heron Road Bridge over the Rideau River, where
on April 28, 1966, 14 workers were killed when the bridge collapsed during
its construction.
