NEPAL AND PAKISTAN

The Home Economists from Nepal and Pakistan will be working on an
international community development project with Quebec Home Economics
Association. Over the past decade the Quebec and Pakistan Home Economics
Association have been working on a joint community development project
focussed on preschool education and income generation for women living in a
squatters’ settlement in Lahore, Pakistan. The work has been very successful
and has resulted in a number of similar projects being implemented in other
communities in Pakistan. The current project is a tripartite one which
involves facilitation by Quebec Home Economists, the sharing of lesson
learned by the Pakistan Home Economists, and the will to implement a similar
project by the Home Economists from Nepal.
The visiting guests are Dr. Leela Devi, KC, Dr. Indira Sharma from Nepal and
Ms. Shaista Pervaiz, Professor Naseem Taslimullah and Dr. Shireen Zafrullah
from Pakistan
