This Sunday, 20 June is Africa Refugee Day.
In Ottawa, the day will be marked by an outdoor solidarity event at the:
Jack Purcell Communty Centre, 320 Elgin St., between Gilmore and Gladstone,
from 1 pm to 7 pm
Join us for music (including Sifa choir), theatre, film, dance, African
food, an info-fair, activities and a Public Discussion Forum. The two open
discussions about the causes of displacement in Africa and grassroots
organising for peace will take place on site (in a tent) from 2:00 to 3:00
and from 4:00 to 5:00 with participants including Roger Clark (Amnesty
International), Ebyan Salah (Som-Can Institute), Malcolm Finney (Sierre
Leone Descendants' Union).
