Position: Membership Coordinator for Networks & Themes

Location: Vanier, Ontario

The Membership Coordinator for Networks & Themes is 
responsible for Amnesty programs related to women, trade 
unions, the legal and medical professions, artists, 
letter-writing, indigenous peoples and religious 
communities. Within these areas, the primary focus at 
present is on work on women's human rights, religious 
communities and trade unions. Responsibilities include 
program strategy development and implementation, creation of 
action materials, information and administrative support and 
training and general support to all membership programs. In 
cooperation with others s/he facilitates the development of 
new, more effective ways of working within the Network/Theme 
program areas.

Requirements:

* Relevant university degree or five years equivalent 
experience
* Experience in organizing or managing projects of a 
promotional or campaigning nature
* Experience writing training and support materials
* Experience as a human rights activist, including on 
women's rights
* Experience as a volunteer or staff person in a 
non-governmental organization
* Excellent communicator - writing and speaking
* Knowledge of training methods, and development of 
promotional materials (both paper and electronic) would be 
beneficial

Length & Hours: This is a one-year contract (beginning 7 
September, 1999) .
The first six-months will be full-time (37 ½ hrs week). 
The second six months will be a part-time (20 hours per 
week) job-share with the incumbent.

Salary: $24.03 - 24.78 per hour (including 15% in lieu of 
benefits and not negotiable)
