TAKE A RIDE!!!

December 3rd through 18th, "Still Waiting For The Special Bus"
returns from a successful run at the San Diego Extraordinary Event to
hit the stage of Great Canadian Theatre Company's Nighthowl Series.

"Special Bus" features the semi-autobiographical frustrations of
Alan Shain, a local comedian and humorist living with cerebral palsy.

His experiences as a community activist, combined with his personal
insights of living with the condition, combine into a compelling tale
about a guy who simply wants to go out on a date. His background as a
stand-up comic comes through in the play as he muses about whether he
is searching for love and romance, or just plain sex.

All of this cast against the backdrop of having to maneuver around
issues of disability like asking his date exactly when and where
they'll meet 2-days before so he can pre-book Para-Transpo.

Shain, who's performed with Yuk Yuk' s for the past 8-years, and
was recently asked to showcase for the 'Lighten Up - 1999 Just For
Laughs Show" uses humour to attack misperceptions of disabled people.

Saturday DECEMBER 11th will be a special performance with all
proceeds going to the...

Property is not a sacred right. When a rich man becomes poor it is a
misfortune, it is not a moral evil. When a poor man becomes destitute,
it is a moral evil, teeming with consequences and injurious to society
and morality.
