Help save the Oak Ridges Moraine!

The biggest anti-development, or at least anti-bad development,
movement in Ontario to date is taking place right now north of
Toronto on the ecologically sensitive Oak Ridges Moraine. There
is unprecedented public support for the preservation of the whole
moraine. Please add yours.

The Oak Ridges Moraine is a roughly 100 km long by 20 km wide
gravel bar left when the glaciers receded in opposite directions.
It serves as a aquifer recharge area for the over 30 rivers and
the drinking water for over 250,000 people. It is the most
important natural corridor in the Toronto Area, made up of
woodlands, kettle lakes and wetlands.

Please write to Honourable Tony Clement, Minister of Municipal
Affairs and housing, 777 Bay St., 17th Floor, Toronto, M5G 2E5.

"If civilization is in danger today... it will do so with the
enthusiastic assistance of credulous people. They seem to me
more dangerous than the most brazen leaders, because everything
is done with their cooperation." - A. Anatoli Kuuznetsov
