Access 2000 coverage on 93.1 CKCU Radio A week long look at
Student Activism Every morning this week from 8:05 AM to 8:35
AM CKCU radio will present Ottawa's most comprehensive look at
Access 2000, the national student protest which takes place on
campuses across Canada this week. Daily half hour programs look
at the specifics of the campaign but also shed light on the broader
issues that have culminated in an organized national student
protest.
The goal of Access 2000 is to draw national attention to student
issues, and to encourage governments to restore social
programme funding; replace student loans with grants; and reduce
tuition fees. Supporters of the campaign will gather in a major
protest on Wednesday February 2 at noon on Parliament Hill.
