PROTEST Canada's failure to prevent a Canadian oil company from escalating
war and empowering the rule of a military dictatorship in Sudan.

when: 10:30 am, Monday, 21 February 2000
where: Department of Foreign Affairs (125 Sussex Drive) and then proceeding
to Parliament Hill

The exploitation of oil in Sudan is widely acknowledged to be an important
factor in the brutal civil war in Sudan. Yet the Canadian government is
refusing to use the powers it has to prevent Calgary-based Talisman Oil from
operating in the region.
