The Campaign for Pesticide Reduction, Ontario and Health Dangers of Urban
Use Pesticides Working Group, Ottawa-Carleton invite you to attend:

BANNING TOGETHER - Sunday March 12th, 12:00 - 5:00pm
Colonel By Room, Region of Ottawa-Carleton, 111 Lisgar St.

An afternoon for eco-activists and associates concerned about pesticides to
network and hear speakers address health concerns, legal updates and
lobbying campaigns geared to pesticide reform and the promotion of
eco-friendly landscaping. The speakers will be:

1.   Nicole Bruinsma MD, VP Canadian Association of Physicians for  the
Environment (CAPE)

2.  Andrea Lockwood from Chelsea about Chelsea's bylaw and medical
concerns about lawn chemicals

3.  Judith Spence RN, CEO Environmental Illness Society of Canada about lawn
chemicals and chemical sensitivities to them

4.  Melissa McDonald, articling student, giving a legal perspective on the
status of current municipal bylaws, and an update on the Hudson Quebec bylaw
challenge before the Supreme Court of Canada

5.  Lori Stalbrand and Craig Bolkjovac, World Wildlife Fund on WWF's efforts
to improve Federal legislation, amend the Pest Control Products Act,
lobbying
efforts planned for Monday March 13th on the Hill

Admission is free and your participation is encouraged! There is excellent
bus access from the Transitway and the Rideau Centre, and often street
parking on or near Lisgar St.

Agenda: Sunday March 12

12:00-1:00: bring your own bag lunch - networking time for pesticide
activists
1:00-3:30: speakers, questions and comments, announcements
3:30-4:30: planning session for day of lobbying with WWF on The Hill, Monday
