22, Montreal.  Public forum & optional march, organized by the 
Council of Canadians & Greenpeace.  On the eve of the next round of 
negotiations on the Biosafety Protocol, an international agreement 
born out of the Convention on Biological Diversity, to which 174 
countries are signatory: the protocol to control transborder shipments 
of GE materials. The U.S and Canada, along with a few other GE-
friendly countries have been trying to kill the protocol, much to the 
outrage of the vast majority of countries signatories to the Rio

* JUBILEE 2000 MASS MOBILIZATION, Sun April 9, 
Washington  Demand that the World Bank, the IMF, and the U.S. 
Congress act now for DEBT CANCELLATION for the world's 
poorest countries.  April Days of Action Against Corporate 
Globalization.  In Seattle protesters said "Enough!" to corporate 
globalization through the World Trade Organization. On April 16-
17, the International Monetary Fund & the World Bank are having 
their Spring meetings in Washington. Many organizations are already 
preparing for days of protest, education, training and direct action. 
The Jubilee 2000 campaign is planning a mass mobilization on April 
9 (see below), and this could be a kickoff for a week of activities.  
Educate yourself & others about the destructive impacts caused by 
the IMF and the World Bank on the environment & living standards
