Bill 74 is the bill that makes volunteer activity after classes mandatory
for teachers. They call it the "Indentured Slavery Act". It takes hours of
work and staffing out of the scope of collective bargaining and grievances.
The Bill overides the Employment Standards Act which is supposed to set
minimum labour standarts for non-union employees, eg. the limit of 8 hours
per day and 48 hours per week before overtime payments.
