protest the hunt of endangered whales

EMERGENCY CALL FOR ACTION

PROTEST THE KILLING OF ENDANGERED WHALES

This week, Japan hunted and killed a Bryde’s whale in the waters North West
Pacific Ocean. This is the first Bryde’s whale hunted in over 10 years of
peace and species recovery. This is not an isolated event. 16 Japanese
vessels are hunting for 50 Bryde’s whales, 10 Sperm whales and 160 Minke
whales. These whales are being hunted under the front of “scientific
research”
while providing meat for profitable market as whale is regarded as a
delicacy.
The United States has already vocalized deep concern over the expansion of the
hunt to include these endangered giants of the sea. Economic sanctions are
being considered if they continue the hunt. Canada has been silent. The
Western Canada Wilderness Committee and the Sierra Youth Coalition invite you
to come raise your voice with concerned citizens and environmentalists to urge
our government to take action.
