Friend,

Please join us for a rally in Ottawa this Thursday afternoon. Join our call
upon the federal government to order an environmental assessment on the
proposal to ship Toronto's garbage to northern Ontario, and dump it in an
abandoned mine. 83 billion litres of leachate (water contaminated by the
landfill) will be dumped into the Lake Temiscaming watershed, shared by
Ontario and Quebec, and the headwaters for the Ottawa River.

Protect the  Timiskaming Watershed
Stop the Adams Mine Dump

Canadian Waste Services and Notre Development want to convert an abandoned
iron ore mine in northern Ontario into a mega-dump for Toronto garbage. 312
million litres of fresh water would be contaminated every year, and
released into the Lake Timiskaming watershed, shared by Ontario and Quebec
and headwaters to the Ottawa River. A federal environmental assessment is
needed - NOW!
