sisterLune is an enthusiastic group of five women from the Niagara
region - Jennifer Benson, Melissa Penner, Brenda Snyder, Betsy Tauro,
and Susannah Taylor - who give new meaning to the words "loony tunes."
Even as children, sisterLune were always acting out! They first met
singing at the famous Henry the VIII Feaste at the Buttery Theatre
Restaurant in Niagara-on-the-Lake, where they decided to pool their
talents and become sisterLune. They have performed at various venues,
always keeping a light-hearted sincerity about important issues
expressed in their music. sisterLune’s repertoire includes a very upbeat

comedic 50’s medley with Rockin’ Robin and an unforgettable version of
Wyrd Sister’s Warrior, both from their CD ‘acting out’. Audiences have
found that their most moving performance is sisterLune's own ‘weaving’.
Images of women waiting---for children to be born, to return from war,
to grow up---are intertwined with questions of self-doubt---"When will I

get my chance? When will I be strong enough?" The arrangement weaves
the distinctive voices of the five women into a tapestry representing
the power and fragility of women's lives.

As part of their mandate, sisterLune often release their rich harmonies
at community events, charitable and educational establishments, as well
as political rallies and spiritual services. Inspiration, education, and

motivation flow through their music and empower the members of the group

as well as their audiences. The uncommon a capella style allows for
pure, uninhibited musical expression and leads the listener to examine
the words, the message.
