[OPIRG-EVENTS] 2 whistleblower events: Mon and Tues night
1. An evening with internationally renowned journalists Steve Wilson and
Jane Akre.

University of Ottawa, Montpetit Hall, 125 University, Room 204
Steve Wilson and Jane Akre were fired from their job at FOX-TV in Tampa
Florida for refusing to falsify a documentary on the hazards of Bovine
Growth Hormone. Against all odds, Wilson and Akre took Fox to court and won.

Senator Noël Kinsella,
Dr. Shiv Chopra, Health Canada whistleblower,
Jane Akre and Steve Wilson, internationally acclaimed journalists,
Representatives for Health Canada scientists being pressured to approve
products of questionable safety
Joanna Gualteiri, whistleblower in the Dept of Foreign Affairs,
Maude Barlow, Volunteer National Chair, Council of Canadians
International representatives
Background
Whistleblowers expose government practises that threaten public safety and
the public interest. In Canada, there is no legislation to protect
whistleblowers from being retaliated against.
