[OPIRG-EVENTS] Wed.Nov.8, TV 8pm - "Silenced: The Execution of Anna Mae"

the fifth estate REVISITS
THE UNSOLVED MURDER OF ANNA MAE AQUASH

WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 8 - 8 PM - CBC TELEVISION

"Silenced: The Execution of Anna Mae" is an examination
of the turbulent politics of the 1970s, the role of the FBI
in subverting radical (and racial) politics, and the
participation of a diminutive Canadian woman in one of
the most explosive moments in native American history.

Anna Mae grew up poor in Nova Scotia, but became a powerful
voice in the American Indian Movement. AIM was in a number of
violent confrontations with the FBI and other police forces
across the USA.

In 1975 she was shot execution-style -
after a botched autopsy, the FBI investigation went
nowhere, and no arrests were ever made.

The fifth estate will confront the man many believe killed her,
a free man living in Canada, regularly visited by the RCMP and FBI.

There is a direct connection with the Leonard Peltier situation -
