[OPIRG-EVENTS] Buy Nothing Day is here!
November 24, 2000 marks the start of the annual
International Buy Nothing Day,
a 24 hour moratorium on consumer spending.
Here are two announcements related to this occasion:
* Octopus Books, 116 Third Avenue (at Bank & Third),
will be closed all day to celebrate. If you call
233-2589 you can hear Lisa's message.
* A street performance consisting of a mock duel between
the forces of Consumerism and Conservation will be presented
by the Enviro Action comittee of Université d'Ottawa's OPIRG/GRIPO
Don't miss the the action on the pathway to the down town Market
at high noon!
